About Us

Twitter is defining a new form of communication that is touching people's lives across the world. We are small but well-funded and building a company to last. We are currently a team of 25 and looking for a few key people who will help take us to the next level.


About this Job

As Twitter continues to grow in every way, we need a solid, experienced, and versatile executive to efficiently scale the non-technical side of our business. This is a key leadership role that will require working closely with the CEO on principles and strategies that shape how the company is run. It will also require working independently and with diverse cross-sections of the company to establish processes and solve problems. 


Responsibilities

  • Finance: Manage all financial reporting, budgets, bookkeeping, and relationships with bank and other financial vendors
  • HR: Work with HR manager on benefit offerings, salary leveling, insurance coverage, and employee issues
  • Legal: Be the point person for various legal issues and work with outside counsel to resolve a quickly as possible
  • Customer support: The support department will report up to you (at least until it stands alone). Work with customer service manager to make it efficient and happy.
  • Manage anti-abuse (and spam) team. Set policies and guidelines.
  • Miscellaneous vendor sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management.
  • Anticipate and solve problems across the company in a wide variety of ways.
  • Work with CEO and the rest of the management team to define strategy and direction


Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in management in a variety of settings
  • Experience at large companies, as well as startups
  • Willingness to role sleeves up and get hands dirty, mixed with an ability to lead and think strategically
  • Familiarity with a wide range of business operational issues, from finance, to HR, to legal
  • Great negotiating skills. (We should be scared when it comes time to to talk about your compensation.)
  • Good with numbers. (You should know your way around Excel like nobody's business.)
  • Ability to think innovatively about mundane issues and to use technology and non-intuitive approaches to solve problems
  • Great people skills. (You have a way of getting the best out of people and making them feel great.)
  • Desire to build a one-of-a-kind organization where amazing people are attracted to do their best work
